Material & finish

The letters are laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. They are made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, where every character is made individually. The light beige tone takes paint, varnish and paper well, so you are free to decorate as you like. Laser-cut wood typically has a fine brown edge along the cut. It gives the lettering outline and depth and shows that a real natural material has been worked here. As a natural product, the wood can vary slightly in grain and colour. That makes every letter one of a kind.

• The chosen height applies to the capitals. Lower-case letters are made to the same scale and are therefore shorter, as the font intends. So for one word, order all letters in the same size. Then all the characters will match.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the letters? Yes. The poplar plywood is untreated and in its natural state. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or decorate it however you like.

Why are the lower-case letters shorter than the chosen size? The chosen height refers to the capitals. Lower-case letters are made to the same scale, as the font is designed. In script fonts they are often a little smaller still. So please order a whole word in one size.

Where does the brown edge come from? The letters are laser-cut. The brown edge forms naturally during this process and is typical of it.

How do I attach the letters? You can glue them or drill them and use them for all kinds of decorations. On the wall, on signs or on gifts.

Will I receive the text ready assembled? No, each letter comes separately. That leaves you completely free in layout, spacing and design.
