Good to know about poplar plywood

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Simply dust dry when needed. As the wood is untreated, it doesn't like constant moisture. In a dry indoor room, your lettering keeps its natural look for a long time. If you paint or oil the letters, you protect the surface further and give the text its own colour.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the lower case letters shorter than the chosen size? The chosen height refers to the upper case letters. Lower case letters are made to the same scale as the font specifies. So for one word, order all letters in the same size. Then they match each other exactly.

Can I paint or oil the letters? Yes. The poplar plywood is untreated. You can decorate, paint or oil it.

Where does the brown rim on the edges come from? The letters are laser-cut. The brown rim forms during cutting and is typical of this process. It gives the lettering a clear outline.

Are colour differences in the wood a defect? No. Wood is a natural material. Different shades, structures in the grain and small knots are normal. They make every letter one of a kind.

How do I fix the letters? You can glue them or drill them. As the material is only 3 mm thick, they also hold reliably with adhesive dots.
