Clean laser cutting gives clear, precise shapes. As the wood is left natural, it takes paint, varnish or oil well. Slight differences in colour and grain are part of wood as a natural material. Each piece is unique, not faulty.

The Cooper font goes back to the American type designer Oswald Bruce Cooper. Since the 1920s it has been known for its soft, boldly rounded shapes. There isn't much you need to do. Keep the untreated wood away from constant moisture, and the characters will keep their shape and light colour for a long time. If you paint, varnish or oil them, you protect the surface further and choose the look at the same time. For a house number outdoors, an opaque coat of paint is especially worthwhile.

• Important note on size: The height you choose refers to the numbers. Small special characters such as the full stop, comma or minus sign are made to the scale of the font and are therefore much smaller. In the Arial font, for example, a full stop is only about 1.4 cm at a number height of 10 cm. So for a date or a phrase, order all characters in the same size so that they match.
