Material & finish

Each letter is made of 3 mm poplar plywood and laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. Laser cutting gives precise, smooth edges. It leaves the typical brown edge that neatly frames the outline and shows the natural wood. The surface is untreated. You can leave it as it is or paint, oil or decorate it as you like. As a natural material, poplar shows slight colour variations in the grain. No two letters are exactly alike, so your lettering is one of a kind.

About the Cooper typeface

Care & durability

There isn't much to do: an occasional dry dusting is enough. As the poplar wood is untreated, it is best kept in dry indoor spaces. Avoid constant moisture. If you paint or oil the letters, you give the surface extra protection. Your lettering will then look well kept for a long time.

Why are lower case letters shorter than the chosen size? The chosen height refers to the upper case letters. Lower case letters are made to the scale of the typeface. So for one word, order all letters in the same size. Then they will match.

How do I fix the letters? You can glue or drill them. At 3 mm thick, they are easy to fix to walls, doors, shelves or in a shop window.

Are the letters suitable for outdoor use? The untreated wood is intended for dry indoor spaces. Protect it from constant moisture. A coat of paint or oil gives the surface extra protection.
