Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A name above the coat rack, a “Saloon” sign at the party bar or lettering for your shop counter: with these wooden letters, you put together your own Marlboro lettering letter by letter. The bold Marlboro font already has the western look built in. And your text in light poplar plywood looks as if it were made for your wall.
What changes for you
- You create exactly the text you need. That’s because you choose every letter individually, from upper and lower case letters in the western font.
- Your lettering fits the room, not the other way round. Choose from four heights from 5 to 20 cm, from a small door sign to large wall decor.
- You can get creative straight away. The wood is unfinished and can be painted, oiled or decorated with stickers or paper to suit your interior.
- You can put the letters up without any fuss. With a material thickness of 3 mm, gluing or drilling is easy.
- You get the rustic western look included. Every character comes with the typical brown laser edge.
Why this wooden lettering makes a difference in everyday life
Wooden lettering turns an empty wall into something that belongs to you. You don’t have to settle for a ready-made sign off the shelf. Because you choose the text yourself, the decoration tells your story: the family name in the hallway, a favourite word in the kitchen, a saying above the bar. The light natural surface sits calmly in almost any interior style.
Material & finish
Every letter is laser cut from 3 mm poplar plywood in our own production in Pößneck. Laser cutting gives clean outlines, even on the fine serifs of the western font. It also leaves the typical brown edge, which is part of the look. The light beige surface is left natural. Grain and shades can vary slightly, as is usual with real wood. That makes every piece of lettering one of a kind.

How to use the western letters
- In the hallway: the family name above the coat rack. Coming home instantly feels a little more personal.
- For a themed party: a “Saloon” or “Wanted” sign on the door. Your guests are in the Wild West as soon as they walk in.
- In the children’s room: the name on the door, painted in their favourite colours. A door sign that really exists only once.
- In a café, at the bakery counter or at a market stall: lettering in a rustic western style draws attention to what you offer. It gives your display a clear, handmade style.
- For crafts: glue letters onto boxes, signs or gifts. Simple things become little keepsakes.
Good to know about the western font
Western-style fonts go back to the bold poster typefaces of the 19th century. They shaped saloon signs and notices in the American West: sturdy and easy to read from a distance. That’s exactly why this lettering works so well for anything that should catch the eye: door signs, party decorations or the lettering on your counter.
Care & durability
There isn’t much you need to do. An occasional dry dusting is enough. As the poplar wood is unfinished, avoid constant moisture. Or paint or oil the letters as you like, and they will keep looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Why are the lower case letters shorter than the size I chose? The height you choose applies to the capital letters. Lower case letters are made to the same scale, as the font dictates. Here is an example from the Arial font in 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm high and the lower case a is 7.3 cm. The lower case h is 9.7 cm. The lower case g is 10 cm high but reaches about 2.6 cm below the baseline.
Which size should I order for a whole word? Choose the same size for all letters in a word, even if it starts with a capital letter. That way, upper and lower case letters match in scale.
Can I paint the letters or stick things on them? Yes. The wood is unfinished and can be painted, oiled or decorated with stickers or paper. You decide the look.
What’s the brown edge about? The letters are laser cut. The brown edge forms naturally in the process and adds to the rustic western style.
How do I attach the letters? You can glue them or drill them. At 3 mm thick, both are easy, for any kind of decoration.
Plywood and font sizes are just the starting point. What counts is the moment your own lettering hangs on the wall. Everyone can see straight away: this is your home, your shop, your idea. Simply put together your text letter by letter.
