Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The wall in the practice room is still bare. The festive table for the choir anniversary still needs a finishing touch. You're looking for something that makes music visible. These music note symbols are made for your music room. They are laser-cut wooden notes, made from 3 mm plywood. You can paint them, stick things on them or simply use them as they are. This way, you bring music to the wall, the table or your craft session.
What changes for you
- You decorate a music room, classroom or your home with a clear musical motif. Every note is cleanly laser-cut and has smooth, brown edges without splinters.
- You can get started straight away, with no preparation. The plywood is untreated and takes paint, glue and oil directly.
- Your decorations match instead of looking thrown together. There are four schemes, and within each one all notes and symbols are in proportion to each other.
- You'll find the right size for every idea. From delicate table scatter on the festive table to wall decoration in the practice room.
- You craft with children at music school, school or nursery using real material. Wooden notes feel good in the hand and can take some wear.
Why these wooden notes make a difference every day
A paper music wall starts to curl. Plastic decorations quickly look generic. Wood, on the other hand, feels calm and natural in a room. When pupils walk into the practice room or guests sit down at the festive table, the symbols show at once what it's all about: music. And because you can design them yourself, they end up reflecting your own style, not a catalogue's.
Material & finish
Every note is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives smooth, brown edges without splinters and precise outlines that need no finishing. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. That's why it takes paint, glue or oil well. As a natural material, it can be lighter or darker. It has its own grain and sometimes small knots. This is not a flaw. It's what makes each piece one of a kind. The symbols are made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the music notes
- In the music or practice room: stick several symbols on the wall as decoration. As soon as people walk in, they can see that music is made here.
- At music school, school or nursery: the children paint their own note. And they learn the symbols along the way.
- On the festive table: scatter the thin symbols between plates and candles. The theme of the concert or choir anniversary carries right through to the table.
- For crafting: add a music note to greetings cards or gifts for musicians. A small thing becomes a personal gesture.
- In a shop or café with live music: put a few notes in the shop window or on the counter. Your event quietly announces itself.
Good to know about music notes
Today's musical notation goes back to the Middle Ages. Monks began to record melodies with symbols on lines so they wouldn't be forgotten. That's why notes still stand for music itself. And that's exactly what makes them such a useful motif, from the music room to a concert celebration to a gift for your favourite musician.
Care & durability
There isn't much to do. Store the symbols in a dry place and wipe them with a dry cloth when needed. Avoid constant moisture, as the wood is untreated. If you oil or paint it, you give the surface extra protection and keep it looking good for a long time.
Options & what's included
- Available in various sizes, divided into 4 schemes. Within a scheme, all notes and symbols are in proportion to each other.
- Important: for matching proportions, please always choose from the same scheme. For example, the treble clef is twice the size of a half note. The whole note or the dot, on the other hand, is much smaller.
- Contents: 1 note or symbol in the size you choose.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the notes or stick things on them? Yes. The plywood is untreated and takes paint, varnish, oil and glue well. It's also suitable for crafting with children.
Why do the symbols have a brown edge? The notes are laser-cut. This creates the typical smooth, brown cut edge. It's part of the process and gives the symbols their typical look.
Why don't all the notes look the same? Wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That's exactly what makes each note one of a kind.
What do the 4 schemes mean? Each scheme is its own size system, in which all notes and symbols are in proportion to each other. If you combine several symbols, choose them from the same scheme.
A few pieces of plywood, and the practice room finally looks like a place for music. Or a child proudly shows the note they painted themselves. Just choose your symbol and size from your scheme and get started.
