Material & finish

The characters are laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood in our own production in Pößneck. Careful processing gives smooth edges. The brown laser edge traces the outline of the font. The wood stays in its natural state. Some pieces are lighter, some darker. They show grain and small knots. This is not a flaw – it's what makes every character unique. Because the surface is untreated, it takes paint, oil or glue well.

Poplar plywood is particularly light and evenly structured. That's why it's often used for laser cutting fine outlines. For you, this means that even curved fonts like Senza Bella Black come out cleanly. And even large 20 cm characters are easy to fix to the wall.

Care & durability

You don't need to do much. Simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. As the wood is untreated, avoid constant moisture. Or paint or oil the characters if you'd like extra protection. This way your lettering keeps its shape and colour for a long time.

• Important: the height you choose refers to the numbers. Small symbols such as a full stop, comma or minus sign are made to the scale of the font and are therefore much smaller. In the Arial font, for example, a full stop at 10 cm is only approx. 1.4 cm in size.

Frequently asked questions

Are the symbols the same size as the numbers? No. A full stop, comma or minus sign is made to the scale of the font and is therefore much smaller than the height you choose. Order all characters for one lettering in the same size, and the proportions will match.

Can I paint the characters or decorate them? Yes. The wood is untreated. You can paint, oil, decorate, glue and drill it.

Why do the characters look different? Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary – and that's exactly what makes every piece unique.

Do the numbers match the wooden letters? Yes. The characters are made in the same Senza Bella Black font as our wooden letters in upper and lower case. If you choose the same size, you get a uniform lettering.
