With these wooden letters, numbers and special characters in the Foo font, you put together your own text character by character. Made to fit your wall. Material & finish

The characters are laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. They are made in our own production in Pößneck. The laser cut gives clean, precise edges. It leaves the typical brown edge that gives each character a clear outline. The wood is left unfinished. You can paint it, oil it, cover it or simply leave it natural. Slight variations in colour on the surface are not a flaw. They show that you are holding a genuine natural product.

Good to know about plywood

Plywood is made of several layers of wood glued crosswise. This keeps it stable in shape and light at the same time. For your lettering, this means the letters lie flat against the wall. They hardly warp and hold with just a little glue. The low weight is a real advantage for longer texts with many characters.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Fixed in a dry place and dusted now and then, the letters keep their natural surface for a long time. Keep the unfinished wood away from constant moisture. If you paint, oil or varnish the characters, you protect them further and choose the colour yourself.

• Important: the height you choose applies to capital letters and numbers. Small punctuation marks such as full stops, commas or hyphens are made to scale. That's why they are much smaller. In the Arial font, for example, a full stop at a height of 10 cm is only approx. 1.4 cm.
• For a word or sentence, order all characters in the same size. That way they match.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the letters? Yes. The poplar plywood is untreated. You can paint it, oil it, decorate it or use it as it is.

How do I fix the characters? You can glue them or drill them. Thanks to the 3 mm material thickness and low weight, they hold on a wall, door or display surface.

Why is the full stop smaller than the height I chose? Small punctuation marks are made to the same scale as they are designed in the font. The height you choose applies to capital letters and numbers. So please order all the characters of a text in the same size.

Are the characters supplied individually? Yes, every letter, number and special character is a separate piece. This lets you put your lettering together freely and add to it later.

Plywood and fonts are only the means. What counts is the moment your word hangs on the wall and visitors ask where you got it. Just choose your characters and the right size. Your text will do the rest.
