Material & finish

Every number and special character is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood in our own production in Pößneck. The laser cut gives clean, precise outlines. It also creates the distinctive brown edge that makes the Western font stand out even more. The wood is left natural. Small differences in colour and grain are part of it and make every character one of a kind. For your project, this means you can decorate, paint or oil the characters, just as you like.

Care & durability

There is not much to do. An occasional dusting with a dry cloth is enough. The poplar plywood is untreated, so it is best kept away from constant moisture. A coat of paint or oil gives the surface extra protection and adds colour at the same time.

• Please note on size: the height you choose refers to the numbers. Small special characters such as full stops, commas or minus signs are made to the scale of the font. This means they are much smaller. In the Arial font, for example, a full stop at a character height of 10 cm measures only about 1.4 cm.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or oil the numbers? Yes. The wood is natural and can be painted, oiled or decorated, just as your project needs.

Where does the brown edge come from? The characters are laser-cut. This creates the brown cut edge, which is part of the typical look.

Why is the full stop so much smaller than the numbers? Punctuation marks are made to the scale of the font, just as they appear in the typeface. Order all characters in the same size and everything will match.

Are there matching letters? Yes, we offer Western wooden letters in upper and lower case among our other products.

Can I fix the characters permanently? Yes, you can glue or drill them to fix them permanently to a wall, door or sign.
